Italian students’ performance and regional decomposition

چکیده

Abstract We relate students’ math scores in the OECD-PISA test to school characteristics. The average score for Italian students has been increasing 2009. determinants of this growth are analyzed by Oaxaca–Blinder decomposition, that is particularly useful comparing groups. progress educational attainments shows a different composition between northern and southern schools. In North-Center regions, improvements explained endowments, while South they also driven external factors not estimated model linked students' attitude education leading more favorable disciplinary climate. regional gap decreases but does disappear.
